  3. Add the flour, baking powder, ground almonds, cocoa and milk, and mix until smooth. Add then add the chocolate chips.
  4. Pour into a lined loaf tin and bake for 1 hour. Use a skewer or knife to check whether the cake is done.
  5. For the chocolate fudge topping, heat the sugar and evaporated milk in a pan until the sugar has dissolved.
  6. Bring to boiling point, stirring continuously and then reduce the heat and leave to simmer for 6 mins.
  7. Remove from the heat and add the chocolate pieces. Mix with a balloon whisk until smooth and then add the butter and vanilla.
  8. Allow to cool before transferring to a bowl. Cover with cling film and refrigerate until it's ready to spread on the cake.
